Felix Dillmann celebrates his 92nd birthday on September, 18.

Felix descends from a music loving family (his father was the well reknown composer of Viennese folk-songs Hans Weiner Dillmann) and hence found his way into music from his earliest childhood on.

Even with 13 years, Felix was one of BDNs most enthusiast listeners and hence became a passionate jazz fan later.
“Rise And Shine” in the early morning and “Luncheon Matinee” at noon were his favourite broadcasts in the beginning. From 1946 onwards Mickey Kaplan’s “Stictly Solid” became his top programme and remained like this until 1951 – but until today Felix is a very close friend to Mickey.
Felix Dillmann remained devoted to BDN until the end of broadcast in August/September 1955.
At 1980 Felix Dillmann started to look for companions sharing memories and material of BDN and grew a respectable collection of BDN memorabilia. He acquired lots of photographies and recordings which allowed him to produce a BDN record at the end of 1980’s.
Without his help and support this BDN fan-page would not exist at all!
